My Project

My goals for this project are to increase engagement in the classroom and encourage scientific inquiry. These supplies help with various labs throughout the year. The craft supplies (popsicle sticks, cotton balls, pipe cleaners) will be used for creating DNA models. Vinegar, Karo syrup, and baking soda are utilized in demonstrating diffusion and osmosis through an "Egg Lab." Other various supplies (whiteboard markers, duct tape, rolling cart) will be used daily to enhance student learning. For example, I use the duct tape to label each student's science notebook they use throughout the entire year!

My students are extremely special and deserve to have the best supplies for education.

At our middle school, we have 20.4% students in special education, 38.4% economically disadvantaged, and 5.3% English language learners. Having a diverse student population allows for many learning opportunities. You would be providing students access to the best education tools.

These supplies will make a huge difference in their learning because it would be providing them a hands-on education. Lab-based and hands-on learning are the best methods for students to learn science, especially as 7th grade students. These supplies will allow for a foundation to be built, knowledge to grow, and most of all, provide students a fun environment to attend school. Thank you so much for your consideration!
