This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school has a diverse population of 800 students and families. My students speak numerous languages and come from all parts of the world.

My students are curious and eager to learn about the world around them.

They enjoy and are engaged in hands-on labs and engineering challenges that allow them to be creative and find solutions to real-world problems. Through our labs and engineering challenges, my students not only learn science skills but also learn collaboration and communication skills.

All my students are unique, hardworking, and motivated to do well in school. They each have goals they are working to achieve by actively participating in my class.

My Project

Hands-on labs and experiences allow students to deepen their understanding of the new NGSS/SEED core and enable my students to explore science concepts through various learning opportunities. All supplies will go towards funding materials for science labs that will help my students explore the science behind chemical and physical changes while being able to express their creativity. The lab supplies will help with my students' understanding of chemistry and allow them to explore density, physical changes, and chemical changes. They will be able to see how adding heat can change the size of an object through a physical change, and be able to take it home to show to their families. They will also be able to explore how mixing two liquids can cause a chemical change. Lastly, they will be able to apply their math skills to calculate density to help them identify mystery materials. Your generosity will give my students a chance to learn on their own, reinforce science concepts, and have fun and be creative while learning.
