What's the most attainable way to investigate topics further while having fun? High interest books of course. My students work hard to learn the concepts taught in class but being able to provide hands-on experiences and make real-life connections would make the learning memorable.
When students walk into my classroom, I want them to feel excited and be able to depend on our classroom experiences in order to continue their motivation to learn and have continuous wonder.
This science library would help my students grasp concepts more easily while increasing their knowledge in cross-curricular domains.
Remember how fascinated you were when there was a hands-on project waiting for you? Help us continue that excitement by supporting our classroom of scholars.
My students come from varied backgrounds creating many gaps both in their background knowledge and vocabulary acquisition. These books would help bridge these gaps by building their schema and allowing them to apply their new knowledge to STEM activities.
As learners we attain new knowledge not only by reading, but through the architecture of using multiple intelligence.
I have seen how children become immersed in learning with high interest topics and hands-on experiences. Would you want to be absent if you knew you were going to make new connections through your learning? All of my students would greatly benefit from having the ability make connections through science topics. Our standards require many of the topics these books cover. For example, The Moon Book by Gail Gibbons and The Sun would directly help us discover the cause of night and day along with providing the springboard for further STEM activities on the subject.
