My students need a copy of this book to participate in our school wide reading program on May 3, 2017. All K-5 students will be reading this book and discussing it at school and at home.
Our school is a wonderful, diverse elementary school. We have students in grades K-5 from many different backgrounds, religions, and cultures.
Our school enjoys activities that bring us together as a community, and foster relationships among teachers, students, and parents.
Our parents are looking for ways to interact with their children with reading and literacy, as well as with the classroom teachers. We are eager to engage in a fun night of discussion about a common book that we all read together.
My Project
On May 3, 2017, our school will be hosting our first ever SCHOOL WIDE reading night. All students, teachers, and parents will have enjoyed reading the same book: The One and Only Ivan. All K-5 students will be reading this book and discussing We will come together that night to discuss it and share our thoughts about it. Parents will have the opportunity to learn how to effectively engage in dialogue with their children about their reading, and we will build our school community by having an excellent story and experience in common.
We are looking to give one copy of the book The One and Only Ivan to each family at our school so that they may participate in our school-wide Family Reading Night.
We hope every family can participate, and don't want to exclude families who may not be able to afford to purchase the book.
