My Students

Do you remember what it was like when you first starting to become a reader? Research proves that students must be exposed to reading to become life long readers. Our students need to be surrounded by interesting books that will instill the love of reading in them.

Our school services students from Kindergarten to Fifth grade.

Our students come from varied backgrounds with different literary experiences. There are a variety of types of readers within our classrooms. In each classroom there is a combination of eager readers and apprehensive readers ranging in their reading levels as well.

My Project

The addition of a book room in our school will promote our school wide goal of 'Nurturing the Love of Reading'. It is imperative for our children to have quality texts at their level to challenge and encourage individual growth. These books for our book room will provide educators with the materials to ensure children are reading engaging and interesting leveled texts.

Due to budget constraints in our district, the success of this project relies on community and parental support.

Through teacher, community and parental collaboration a quality book room can be developed.
