My Project

Students need common instructional supplies to be able to engage in school work both in school and at home as it helps reinforce the skills that they learned in school. My population has the challenge of learning language and content simultaneously, and to “catch up” they must learn what a native English speaker does in a day plus what they missed when they transferred in from their home country’s education system thus doubling their work and the amount of time they need to apply to reaching their goals. Establishing home to school kits will help students be prepared to meet this challenge.

Children have to be equipped with what they need in order to have a better learning experience.

The stress of feeling underprepared and different can lead to lack of focus and effect their self-esteem and/ or motivation. This is why having school supplies is so important.

Studies show that children having school supplies of their own can improve grades, creativity, attitudes towards learning, behavior, peer relationships and self-image. Being prepared will keep my students motivated and excited about learning.
