My Project

Every September, I am excited to greet my new group of kindergarten students, and they are excited to start school. While some may have prior school experience, for others, it will be their first school experience. The kids are always excited to explore the classroom and be introduced to all of the special materials that we have here.

Some families are excited to purchase crayons, markers, and glue sticks for their children to bring to school, but for other families, it can be a source of stress, especially for families that have more than one child going to school.

This project will provide crayons, markers, glue sticks, and dry erase markers for students to use in the classroom, as well as pencil boxes to help each child keep their tools organized in their desk. We do many activities that require markers, crayons and glue sticks at the start of the school year to help children build stamina, use their fine motor skills, and learn how to appropriately use classroom materials. We use dry erase markers most days to practice letter formation on whiteboards. The pencil boxes are a huge help as children learn to be responsible for their materials. All of these items are essential materials that my students will use regularly in our classroom.

This project will alleviate the need to require families to provide school supplies for their children, yet ensure that all of my students have the supplies they need for a great start to school!
