My Students

I teach two half sessions of kindergarten in Utah. We are a Utah designated S.T.E.M. school that also has a Dual Language Immersion program in Russian for first grade and up. We love to incorporate science and technology into our classroom as much as possible. My students bring a fun energy and excitement with them every single day that they come to school. My students love to learn new things and they love to learn about the world around them.

My Project

After Covid I needed to make sure that my students had access to individual schools supplies and math manipulatives. Making sure each student had their very own set of school supplies and math counters so they don't have to share supplies will help to keep my students healthy and safe from spreading germs to each other. Keeping my students healthy will keep them in the classroom learning and they will have less days spent out of the classroom. Having two different kindergarten classes (morning and afternoon) means that I need more school supplies and math counters than I have needed in the past. I also have the largest class sizes that I have ever had. These various school supplies, pencil boxes and book boxes will ensure that each of my students have their own and will not have to share.

My students will be able to successfully learn different math concepts such as addition and subtraction with their own math counters.

Also, giving my students access to several different STEM activities will help engage my students during inside recess when the Utah air quality is too bad to allow us to go outside. STEM activities help enrich children's developing cognitive skills, such as their logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking.
