My Project

At W. M. School in southwest Cedar Rapids, we welcome about 400 energetic and creative middle schoolers through our doors every day. We are proud to have one of the most diverse student bodies in the state, with a large minority representation and 80% of our kids qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. Middle schoolers learn best when things are hands-on, visual, and relevant to their lives, so bringing high-tech tools into our building gives every single student the chance to see themselves as an innovator.

To make that happen, we are asking for a 3D printer and colorful filament to launch a building-wide reward and school spirit initiative.

Instead of keeping this printer tucked away in just one classroom, we want to open it up to everyone. Students who show positive behavior, strong leadership, or academic growth will earn "print passes" to design and create their own custom keychains, desk accessories, and mini figures. They will also get to collaborate on school-branded gear, mascot tokens, and recognition awards for their peers. Your support will help us celebrate positive choices in a fresh, exciting way while giving all of our kids a chance to bring their biggest ideas to life.
