My Project

As teachers, we try to connect what they learn with what they will need in the "real world". By using a hydroponic method of growing fruits and vegetables, they will have the opportunity to farm no matter where they live. As a school in an urban area, space is limited. By taking our science curriculum, K-5, we will be able to push ourselves away from just using direct instruction and have them interact with what they are learning. This will allow for more hands on, physical learning. Not only will they be able to see the experiments from start to finish, but also be able to eat what they have grown. It doesn't get much better than that!
