Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are environmentalist by nature. They love to assist in growing things in the ground, along with beautifying certain areas by planting various plants that will enhance the appearance of the school front entrance. Most of the students are well aware of how to grow things from helping their grandparents with home gardening. For Example: many of them know how to grow tomatoes, eggplants, potatoes, strawberries, raspberries, collard greens, watermelons.

These students share many stories of how their grandparents give them advice on keeping the earth clean with recycling and using compose piles when things go bad.

We as a community school will use these donations to cultivate and share the fruitage of the labors the plants will produce with others in our school. We plan to have a contest on whose plants grow the best.
