Sand/Play Therapy for Kids

Help me give my students a way to express their feelings and the traumas they have experienced through the use of sand therapy with these high quality play therapy miniatures and the sand and sand tray!

My Students

I am a school counselor in a Title I School which serves a very low socioeconomic student population. The student body is comprised of a very diverse population with a wide variety of languages and cultures.

My students love to learn about each other and the differences and similarities they share!

Understanding and accepting each others' differences is one of the things that make my students special and unique! My school is one of the most positive influences in the students' lives and a safe and welcoming place for them to learn.

Many of my students have experienced some form of trauma in their lives and need a place they feel safe and secure.

My Project

Many of my students have experienced unimaginable trauma in their lives and do not always know how to express what they are feeling in a positive way. Through the use of sand play therapy students are able to relax and share their feelings without fear.

The sand, sand tray, and the miniatures are a creative and fun way for children to express themselves and reveal feelings and emotions that may otherwise remain hidden.

By creating a safe and relaxing area for my students within the counseling setting I am able to better serve my students and help them to focus on just being the best students they can be.
