The books have given students the language and understanding they need to identify, label, and talk about their feelings. By connecting emotions to characters and stories, students are more willing to reflect on their own behavior and develop healthier coping strategies.\r\nThe emotion plush balls have been especially effective as a hands-on tool. Students now independently use the plushes to communicate how they are feeling, which has reduced frustration, shutdowns, and misunderstandings. The tactile component helps younger or more reluctant students express themselves in a nonverbal way, making emotional check-ins more accessible for everyone.\r\nTogether, these tools have created a calmer and more predictable classroom environment. Students transition more smoothly between activities, resolve conflicts with greater independence, and recover from emotional moments more quickly. Overall, the combination of SEL books and emotion plush balls has strengthened students' self-regulation skills and improved the overall climate of the classroom by fostering empathy, openness, and emotional awareness.","fullyFundedDate":1757090497227,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-regulation/9520414/","projectTitle":"Social Emotional Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bond","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9471147"},{"teacherId":9367993,"projectId":9328300,"letterContent":"My kids have been so excited about the colorful paper you purchased for our classroom. We use the kettlebells daily for lessons that teach proper lifting mechanics such as hip hinges, squats, deadlifts, carries, and presses. One memorable moment was during a kettlebell circuit lesson where students rotated through stations and corrected each other's form using cues we had practiced. This showed not only skill development, but also confidence and understanding of safe strength training.\r\nWhen the students first saw the kettlebells, they were extremely excited. Many had never used kettlebells before, and they were eager to learn how to lift them correctly. The equipment immediately increased engagement, as students were more motivated to participate and take pride in learning a new skill. Having real, functional strength equipment made the class feel more authentic and helped students take ownership of their learning.\r\nBecause of this project, students are now progressing into more advanced kettlebell movements and structured routines. Our next steps include teaching students how to build their own simple kettlebell workouts while focusing on safety, proper technique, and personal growth. These lessons are helping students develop lifelong strength-training skills they can use outside of school, and this would not have been possible without your support.","fullyFundedDate":1761011302587,"projectUrl":"project/the-tigers-den/9849200/","projectTitle":"The Tiger's Den","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Kinser","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10324836_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760992717718","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10324836"},{"teacherId":9471139,"projectId":9328461,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom is beginning to feel less like a traditional school space and more like a second home for my students.
