My Students

My students have been handed a lot of challenges in life that are of no fault of their own, ranging from emotional and learning disabilities to mental health issues, to poverty, and neglect. These challenges are so major that the student's physical health often took a back seat. Many of our students live in neighborhoods where they cannot go outside and play because it is just too dangerous, and in some cases, their parents cannot afford to put them in extra curricular activities. PE class is the only time some get to be active.

My students are wonderful, ambitious individuals who have their whole future ahead of them to make changes to the lifestyle they were brought up in.

With a little help from the right people, anything is possible!

My Project

My students need new floor mats in order to participate in various stretches, weight or body training activities. Students can also perform different yoga poses on these mats. By using these new mats instead of a hard gym floor, students will be safer and the risk of injuries will be reduced.

The floor mats will create a safe place for students to actively participate and engage in physical education.

We also need chalkboard contact paper in order to give visuals to the students about their daily fitness goals and work out of the day!
