Safe Travels and a Smooth Ride

My Students

My students come to my class to get a break from their regular classroom routines. They get to express themselves and use their imaginations. My students haven't had art classes until 6th grade. For many of them, art becomes their outlet for self-expression.

My students come from small farming communities around the county our school is located in.

Most of them don't have a background knowledge of art, but they are open to learning. They are good kids with outstanding ideas. My students are great at running with the crazy things I throw out at them, but they need some inspiration.

They have great attitudes and I look forward each fall and spring to meeting all my new students.

My Project

Our kiln is in a different location than our art room. To get the clay artwork to the kiln students must take their work out into the hallway and then into a room down the hall. Our current old rickety cart isn't a safe way to transport things that the students have spent hours of their lives working on.

A new ware truck will give us the ability to carefully move clay projects, which students spend hours on, to and from the kiln.

I can't watch any more work rattle on the cart and fall apart!
