My students need a new rug for whole group and small group time.
My students enter my Kindergarten classroom full of life, curiosity, and an eagerness to learn. Despite that eagerness, many of my students are faced with challenges due to the fact that our school is in a low socioeconomic school district. Many of my students suffer from poverty, lack of background experiences, and are being raised in single parent homes.
These challenges do not squelch their thirst for knowledge.
My students are happy and willing to put forth the efforts needed for them to be successful.
In my classroom I strive to create an environment that is comfortable and that will allow students to have the best learning experience possible. We have whole group time several times throughout the day. My students come sit on the floor in front of the smartboard at various times throughout the day. . We have hard tile floor, that is cold and uncomfortable. Students can't concentrate or do their best learning when they are uncomfortable.
My Students need a rug to have a comfortable and colorful place to come for whole group time.
If students don't have a comfortable place to come they will not get the full learning experience. We need a rug so that the students can focus on what we are learning, rather than the cold floor. The rug will be used on a daily basis and throughout the entire school day.
