My Project

Fourth grade is a year that invites students to expand and develop their understanding of social-emotional growth, diversity, and inclusion among their fellow peers. Our classroom is rooted in community building and welcoming to all walks of life. My students enjoy the independence of using materials as they need and taking ownership of keeping our classroom community supplies neat and tidy. There's a place for everyone and everything within our class.

My diverse students thrive when they can see themselves reflected in the books we read which helps build our classroom culture to celebrate our unique identities.

As an educator, I strongly believe that building a safe and inclusive classroom community is key to student success. I aim to continue building our classroom community by giving my students choice and accessible learning opportunities. My students learn best when they are in a comfortable environment. Books such as "Nian Monster" and "The Great Race" will open my students to traditional tales in Chinese culture and history. Paired with the traditions of the tales of Chinese Lunar New Year, we will organize our classroom materials as a way to celebrate a fresh start to the year.
