Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students have developed a love for music that goes beyond the elementary basics. We have maxed out rhythm sticks, boom-whackers, and other basic musical instruments. Many have expressed a desire to learn guitar, drums and keyboard. They have even asked if they could start their own band. This is definitely possible, as I have the ability and the knowledge to teach them. However, I do not have the instruments at my disposal.

Having these instruments in my classroom will give my students the opportunity to explore and learn new instruments, and even start their own rock band.

I know that this is only a small step towards our goal, but this will be beneficial to their musical growth.
