Most students in our school district learn to play instruments in middle school, only if they choose to be a part of the band. As an Elementary Music Teacher that plays several instruments, it is my desire to teach my students to play traditional band instruments, while still in elementary school. By forming a 4th and 5th Grade band, this will give our students the opportunity to model leadership, teamwork, and ignite a passion for music throughout our school and our district. It is my desire for our students to provide music for events and holidays throughout the school year. These instruments would be a great foundation and starting point to making this vision a reality. I love to give my students a hands-on approach to learning music. With these instruments, they will not only learn about music, but they will be able to express themselves musically.
