My students need robotic tools to explore coding throughout the curriculum.

We have GREAT kids at our Kindergarten through fifth-grade school! However, we are a Title 1, 100% free breakfast and lunch school. Our students come to school excited to learn, be with their friends, and of course, have lunch. Our students mostly come from rural areas with a few from the edge of nearby towns.
As a result of being high poverty and rural, our students face challenges each day which make it difficult to get down to the process of learning.
One of those difficulties includes lack of reliable access to the Internet. Another is expanding our students’ communities past their isolated neighborhoods. Still more difficulties tie to basic needs. However, they strive to thrive and work hard to reach their dreams.
Coding touches every aspect of our lives. Codings skills also apply to all subjects. Every action we do can be broken down into steps, which are like code. Knowing how to break actions into code helps students to slow down, not rush, and learn how to show their work. Thinking through the steps increases understanding.
My students need robotics to explore how and why coding is everywhere.
These resources will provide my students with tools to which few have access away from school. The robots will be shared by all grade levels; older students will learn to code and pass on their knowledge as coding mentors to our younger students. Please help us develop robotics skills as we build our cross-curricular 21st-Century skills.
