Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my restorative practice classroom, I strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel valued and empowered. The specific items I’m requesting—hygiene kits, snacks, and hands-on activities—will directly impact students’ well-being and engagement. Providing hygiene essentials ensures that students have access to basic self-care, promoting confidence and comfort. Snacks help those who may have missed a meal, allowing them to focus on learning rather than hunger. The hands-on activities will encourage students to practice restorative techniques, fostering conflict resolution, empathy, and positive communication.

My goal for this project is to create a safe space where students feel heard and supported.

By teaching restorative practices, I aim to help students develop strong interpersonal skills, encouraging them to communicate effectively and build healthy relationships.

Additionally, I want to provide resources that motivate students to attend school and feel a sense of belonging in our community.

What makes my students truly special is their charisma, warmth, and resilience. Each one has a unique way of expressing care and support for their peers. Many of our students have learned to advocate for themselves, demonstrating incredible growth and determination. With the right tools and encouragement, they can continue to thrive, building a stronger, more compassionate school community.
