This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing hard-working individuals. Even though my students struggle with daily obstacles due to various factors, such as poverty, they overcome and cope with their anxiety levels in academic tasks.

My students have worked on building their confidence, self-efficacy, growth mindset by progressively practicing and expanding their learning on a weekly basis.

Our school is located in an urban community with limited resources. Despite their circumstances, my students continue to grow every day by making use of our limited materials. My students are scientists and mathematicians that are going to positively affect the future. They work arduously and persevere despite their daily obstacles within and outside our school. My wonderful students need basic materials to meet their basic needs and nurture their learning.

My Project

The requested tool will allow my students to access necessary items for science and math. For science, students will use it to research and print critical articles about cells and thermal energy. As for math, students will be provided with printed tools for their math centers, such as number lines and fraction strips.

My students are learning how to document their scientific knowledge appropriately by creating argumentative essays and science projects.

My students engage in research where they have to read articles about various topics. Students will use printed papers to annotate them by writing questions and comments on the side of each paragraph.

The printer will help my students create assignments that will prepare them to expect to see in college and the real world.
