My students need basics supplies to be able to achieve their academic goals for the new year. We are requesting copy paper, chart paper, pencils and pens.
Our students have had a fantastic start to the school year. Every year during the winter time our supplies begin to run low. Our families send what they can and we appreciate the effort but with your help our students will have the tools that they need to continue to reach their goals.
We have the privilege of teaching 22 voracious readers and writers.
Our students come from various backgrounds. Most of them come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, and receive free or reduced price lunch. Unfortunately, our school, which receives Title I funding, lacks many of the resources and funding necessary for my students to have access to the materials they desperately need. Despite the lack of resources, my students demonstrate an eagerness to learn and grow both academically and socially.
My Project
We are requesting copy paper, pencils, colored pens, laminating pouches, cleaning supplies and chart paper. Our students use chart paper to work collaboratively to generate new ideas during our inquiry block. Colored pens will assist students during our integrated ELA and social studies block as they practice close reading skills such as annotating the text. Laminating pouches will help us preserve and display student work. Finally, our students need copy paper and pencils for daily classroom assignments and homework.
Donations to this project will ensure that no student has to go without the basic supplies they need to be successful.
Replenishing school supplies can be an incredibly costly burden for our students' families. Replenishing the supplies will relieve some of the financial stress on parents who work relentlessly to ensure students have what they need.
