My Project

As a middle school counselor, I work with students every day who are experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, and other challenges that can impact their ability to learn and succeed in school. My goal is to provide them with a safe, supportive space where they can learn healthy coping skills and develop strategies for managing their emotions.

Having items like sketch books, fidget spinners, stress balls, calm-down stickers for anxiety, and sensory rings will give my students access to hands-on tools that help them regulate their emotions, reduce stress, and refocus on learning.

In addition, I plan to use SEL games and conversation cards during individual counseling sessions, small groups, and classroom guidance lessons. These resources help create meaningful conversations, teach important social-emotional skills, and encourage student engagement in a fun and non-threatening way. This project will directly support my students' emotional well-being, strengthen their coping and communication skills, and help create a more positive and productive school environment.
