Reeds, Please!

Help me give my students reeds to play their woodwind instrument with as they get expensive, especially for beginners.

My Project

In our small, rural school, learning how to play a band instrument is part of the rite of passage. We begin in 5th grade with NUVO instruments and proceed to real ones in 6th. However, using a real instrument means either buying an instrument or renting a school one. If you're playing a clarinet or saxophone, there is also the hidden cost of buying reeds.

While a reed for a couple dollars doesn't sound like much, it adds up.

Especially when beginners can go through a reed a day! That's a minimum of $2.50 (for the cheap ones!) and up to $5 for the reeds for larger instruments. Your gift will help students not worry about whether or not they can afford the reeds needed to keep playing and even branch out onto the bigger instruments in the clarinet and saxophone families. The synthetic reeds will help my high school players who switch from alto to bari sax and back during a concert without needing to wait for the reed to get wet. Thank you for keeping music strong in our school!
