Pages get mixed up. Covers fall off. You lose your place. There is nothing like reading a brand new book that no one else has touched yet! While I am not doing 6th grade reading this year (they switched me to 7th grade world geography!), I know the teacher using these books were excited to have new student texts to read from. The big set of books will allow for groups of 3 to read together another book (or two or three) as a literature group. An who can resist madlibs that work along with the books you're reading. I'm going to give you an example of what a student said when we used the machine on his trumpet (which was a self-purchased, used trumpet), as he really wanted to clean it deeply. \r\n\r\n\"My trumpet sounds so different now! It's better, but it's different! It's hard to explain, but it's definitely better. Like it sounds clean and clearer.\" He is so happy to have his trumpet be almost like new with this deep clean. He took time to take it apart, scrub a couple smaller pieces before putting them in, and then doing all the slide grease and valve oil perfectly. And this is just for the first person we used the machine with. I've got the velcro numbered dots on the floor, ready for my kiddos so they know exact spot to sit when they come in (their name with number will be shown on the board). The shelves and organizers are in the band office, making it much easier for me and the students to find what we need (reeds, cleaning clothes, valve oil, screwdrivers, screws, pads, and more). I can simply tell them to look at the shelf, or I can easily grab it myself. It is SOOO nice to be able to organize all of this.\r\n\r\nWith another project, I was able to give my 8-12th band new folders, now I have pencils to put in them (giving them no excuse to not have one! Each of the band kids grades 5-12 will get one. Having the blue folders allows me to give each of my younger students their own folder for classwork as well. and I LOVE THE STICKERS! So will the kids. I've already used the TPT gift card to get some materials for my MS and my beginning band. I've got my eye on a couple for the special needs music kids, I'm just waiting to see exactly how to use it best. While smaller folders are less expensive, they don't hold the printed music which is bigger than 8 1/2\" x 11\". These folders have nice brass corners to stand up to bumping. They have a pencil holder (and you've helped provide pencils in our classroom basics projects so they can't say the don't have one!). They have nice wide pockets and are strong to hold all the music and workbooks we use through the year. I am soooo thankful for these as our old ones were cheaper vinyl ones where the cover was already starting to tear away from the corners. You can see in the pictures the happy faces of some of my students. These kids have really worked hard to be the best small marching band they can possibly be and it is so nice to be able to give them a snack without me having to shell it completely out of my pocket. We will be using the cooler come next Saturday (when I'll fill it with ice and water and juice pouches) for after the parade. That day is almost always the hottest day to march and they NEED to drink something cold afterwards and eat a snack.
