My Project

My students are incredible humans. They deserve the world and more-but giving them all the opportunities they should have can be difficult given our Title I status and limited funding.

With your help, I can increase participation by having a one-to-one ratio of recorders for my students.

By the upper grades (3-5), preparing for middle school music is already well underway. Allowing students to learn and practice a pre-band instrument like a soprano recorder helps set them up for future success in an ensemble.

In grades K-2, students learn the building blocks of music through play! Puppets help tell musical stories, build confidence, and allow for more creative movements. Manipulatives such as erasers help students learn about rhythms in isolation, and later, how putting different patterns together creates a song! All my students benefit from having sit spots, which double as appropriate spacing for folk dancing-one of our favorite pastimes.
