This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district, I work with students who are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are superstars who are willing to take on any challenge thrown their way.

Our classroom is a welcoming environment. The students are supportive of one another and truly want to see each other succeed. We work hard every day to make sure we are living up to our potential as third grade students.

My Project

Our students are stuck inside until March or April due to the cold winter weather. We have several indoor recess activities that they love, but there just isn't enough to go around.

Help give my students activities to keep them busy and engaged during indoor recess.

I am asking for Picasso Tiles and kinetic sand. We already have some of these in the classroom and students often become upset if they can't use them. Having more sets will allow more students to be able to use these activities. I have also asked for additional magnetic building kits and STEM activities. The students love to build and create!

I am also asking for some basic health and disinfecting supplies. Our supplies are running low and we can always use more wipes and masks during this unprecedented time.
