My Students

This is an early childhood special education class for students ages 4-6. All of my students have varying learning challenges and require different types of support and individualized education plans. I believe that all children can learn and it is up to us, the teachers, to find the best way they learn and teach to that. Early intervention is instrumental to each child's educational success and is one of the many reasons that I am seeking materials to continue to enhance their learning experience.

My Project

My students need to develop and strengthen their readiness skills for the next step in their educational journey.

By donating to our project, you will help to improve and increase student success, which will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Each child has individualized work based on their IEP's. We focus on goals that are specific to the child's developmental level and area of interest. A-Z letter cards, letter photo cards, and letter word building puzzles, will foster the pre-readiness skills for the reading process. Sorting boards, and magnetic math cards will encourage the math skills needed for later years. We are using flannel boards and kits, such as Pete the Cat to help them develop a love for books and to help with story retelling.

We want to ensure maximum learning, and foster independence in our learning environment. With these materials, the students would be provided with opportunities for learning based on what is developmentally appropriate for each child.
