The hands on materials, such as magnetic shape sorters, letter finders, make the learning very concrete for my students. The students can manipulate the materials and explore at their own pace. Each student in the class has an Individual Education Plan. Their learning needs and instruction are tailored to the more specific needs or the learners. By donating to our project, you will not only help provide much needed hands on materials, you will ultimately help to increase the academic achievement of the children in the classroom. Some students need extra practice when it comes to counting and making sets. The see inside counting tubes will let children see and count in a self correcting manner with instant success. All of my students need practice, and repetition of letter identification and sound letter association. The learner letters activity center will allow an alphabet sensory experience that will work on fine motor as well as build their pre-reading skills. These manipulatives allow for more individual work and they can complete at their own pace and use on a daily basis until the skills is mastered. Not only do the materials such as manga builders, and magnetic building sets, work on gross and fine motor, it also introduces them to STEM concepts. All the materials help develop and refine fine and perceptual motor skills along with the academic skills.
