Help me give my students supplies to make our reading workshop successful. The Neorok soft stool will help my energetic students focus. The Scotch laminator will be a great way to keep our materials strong and long-lasting.
Our students come from a rural district in a one-stoplight town. It's a beautiful setting and provides for a warm learning environment within our local school district. From preschool to graduation, our students stay in the same building as they grow and learn. They develop a sense of pride and compassion over the course of their years at our school.
My students love to learn and they have a natural curiosity for the world around them.
Our staff works hard to meet their needs and give them diverse experiences not found in their everyday lives. We want all students to feel successful and make gains throughout the school year.
My Project
Reading workshop has been an evolving system in my ELA classroom. Last year was trial and error with the guided reading system and also mixing in the writing and grammar standards. I realized I was lacking many items to make a true workshop experience. When I would meet small groups, it was hard to multi-task all the items I needed. I would be holding a whiteboard along with our text and trying to keep track of time.
Reading workshop needs to be a streamlined process that allows students to be successful.
The magnetic wipe and write board will be a great way to teach my small groups without being overwhelmed by my materials. The magnetic holders and book stands will help organize materials during workshop time. The wobble stool will help antsy students focus while they are working with me or reading independently. The laminator will help keep all of our supplies sturdy. I want reading workshop to help all of my students grow. That can only happen if we feel prepared and ready for each day.
