My students are great kids who attend a small, public school in rural Ohio. The typical graduating class is around 50 and students spent most of their school career with the same classmates, year after year. I want to bring reading to life for them, and get them to engage with one another in ways they previously have not done. I want novels that are inspirational, that bring meaning to my preteens' lives, that relate to what is happening in the world today. While there are many great novels out there in the world, I want to expose my students to books that are different from the ones that have been in my classroom since 1970.

About my class
