Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very sweet kids who struggle in reading. My students are at least two grade levels behind in reading. Many of my students are English Language Learners. Many of my students come to me feeling defeated when it comes to reading. They are embarrassed that they can not read the same books as their peers. My class is here to help them become a more confidante reader.

Once they enter my classroom they beginning to feel pride in their reading and themselves!

Many of my students leave my classroom excited to read and share their new found love for reading with others!

My Project

My students come from low income families. They do not have the same opportunities presented to them. My students have the lowest Lexile scores in the school. I want to use the materials I have requested to create a fun, comfortable reading environment. When my students are feeling confidante and excited to read, I have done my job! I believe with these materials I can help my students find a love for reading.

When students have a healthy learning environment the sky is the limit!

My students are going to soar into a bright future where they can read at the same level as their peers. These materials are the tools they need to succeed now and in the future! Titles like Amelia Bedelia, National Geographic and Who Would Win will grab my student's attention and create a need to read!
