Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students deserve access to books that reflect their identities and spark their interest in reading. Many of the texts currently available are outdated or disconnected from their experiences, which makes it harder for them to stay engaged and build confidence as readers.

By expanding our classroom library, I can provide high-interest, culturally relevant books across a range of reading levels.

When students have choice and can see themselves in what they read, they are more motivated, think more deeply, and begin to develop a genuine love for reading.

These books will be used daily for independent reading, discussions, and skill-building. Investing in our library is an investment in my students’ growth, confidence, and future success.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
