This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are bright, eager learners taking on a new adventure in life and beginning middle school. These students are entering a new area of reading for the first time and meeting new goals and challenges, and they will be addressing many changes this year with increasing academic work. The best way for my students to navigate all these new changes is to have the tools needed to be successful. The sight word games and activities such as the bingo and sound cards will allow the students to approach learning in a way that is not stressful and can apply skills learned in a practical way! The poster will allow for a visual aid in writing to help improve their skills.

The students will use the Tap-and-Write CVC words to help build their decoding skills.

They will use the sight word sentence cards to practice making simple sentences.
