My Students

My students are a dynamic and creative group of special-needs children in grade 5 who strive to be the best they can be. They are supportive of one another, and combine their talents to create a unique atmosphere where they feel comfortable to be themselves, ask questions, and grow academically and socially. Nearly 100% of my students come from low-income households. They strive on the encouragement and support of our teachers and staff. Please help my students continue on their path to success!

My Project

My students need tools that will increase their ability to access printed materials in the general education classroom. Basic reading is a skill we focus on daily. Reading highlighters will assist students in keeping their place when reading. Color overlays will also reduce visual strain as students decipher printed text.

As I engage the students in reading intervention strategies, additional tools are needed.

My students also need white boards and dry erase markers to practice phonics, decoding, and other word attack skills in the small group setting. These boards can also be used for math skills practice in the small group setting.
