Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is my first year teaching 3rd grade and from the first day my students have blown my mind and have won a special place in my heart. My sections are part of the dual-language program. My homeroom is the shy and quiet section, but they have big ideas. The students in the second section are the fast thinkers and eager to share what they think.

Both sections are full of kindhearted students who are eager to learn, help others and try their best.

Like one of them told me, "Ms. B., it's okay if you don't win the door competition. The important thing is to try your best to make your door the best you can make it."

My little philosophers teach me every day and make me a better teacher.

My Project

Having reading trackers will help my students with dyslexia, and my new comer students focus in their reading.

I have students with dyslexia ad other disabilities, using the trackers will aid them in chunking while reading and they will not get overwhelmed by a page full of letters and words.

My newcomers are learning how to read, they struggle with following what line they are reading in, and they are demotivated to learn. I believe these trackers will make them feel like reading is cool and motivate them a little more to engage in reading, even if its hard for them.
