The new hands-on materials have brought excitement, creativity, and meaningful learning opportunities to my students. When they first saw the magnetic STEM building set and other supplies, their faces lit up, and they were eager to explore. They have used the materials to build imaginative structures while practicing colors, shapes, counting, fine-motor skills, spatial awareness, and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nMy young students on the autism spectrum are still learning how to manage their emotions, share materials, and take turns. Previously, our limited resources sometimes made it difficult to keep every student purposefully engaged, which could contribute to frustration and behavioral challenges. With your generous donations, each learning station now offers engaging materials and teacher-created task boxes that reinforce classroom instruction. Students are learning to follow their individual schedules, work more independently at their assigned stations, complete tasks, and transition more successfully between activities.\r\n\r\nIt has been wonderful to watch students remain engaged, cooperate with one another, and feel proud of completing activities independently. Our next step is to introduce additional building challenges and task boxes connected to our math, science, and literacy lessons. These activities will continue strengthening their understanding of important concepts while developing communication, self-regulation, and independence. Your generosity has helped us create a more structured, welcoming classroom where every student can learn, create, and experience success.
