My little scholars are awesome! They are inquisitive, loving, energetic, and passionate about life. They come from low-income backgrounds and 99.99% of them are from a latino background. We live by two mottos in our class room, the school motto "Work Hard. Get Smart. Go to College" and our classroom affirmation... "I am smart, I am loved, I can do this". I don't teach future leaders, I teach LEADERS period. They know they are amazing because I tell them everyday. Currently I teach 2nd Grade Math, Science, Reading, and Social Studies with 26 plus students in my class. Its not easy getting them all to learn together so we do lots of small groups practices, yoga, and meditation with breathing exercises. We also have been somehow blessed with a reading room and a math room because of a recent vacancy across the hall that was already had a library. You can see we've got all the room we need but not all the furniture.
