Help me give my students 14 headsets that will enable them to access a proven reading intervention program that will rapidly increase their reading skills and help them be successful inside and outside the classroom.

My Students

My students are struggling readers. Somehow they have made it to junior high school lacking essential reading skills. This creates huge gaps in their learning and they have to work twice as hard as other kids.

Despite their challenges, my kids show up everyday and work hard!

They are constantly pushed out of their comfort zones, but they accept the challenge with a positive attitude and persevere because they are motivated to learn.

My kids are amazing and inspiring young people!

My Project

My junior high students have obstacles like difficulty decoding words, limited vocabulary acquisition, poor reading comprehension, spelling, and writing skills. The headsets will enable them to use a research based reading intervention program that focusses on the above skills. They will also give me the ability to provide a blended learning environment where I can have kids doing rotations with software and working in small groups with me on specific reading strategies.

As their skills and confidence increase, my students "kick stones" out of their own paths.

They become successful, many for the first time, both inside the classroom and out in the real world.
