My junior high students have obstacles like difficulty decoding words, limited vocabulary acquisition, poor reading comprehension, spelling, and writing skills. The headsets will enable them to use a research based reading intervention program that focusses on the above skills. They will also give me the ability to provide a blended learning environment where I can have kids doing rotations with software and working in small groups with me on specific reading strategies. As their skills and confidence increase, my students "kick stones" out of their own paths. They become successful, many for the first time, both inside the classroom and out in the real world.
