That means more students can be on the simulator at once instead of waiting longer for a turn, which increases hands‑on time and accelerates learning. The curved monitors have simplified our simulator setup and programming, producing a smoother, more seamless display for students as they practice flight procedures and cockpit workflows.\r\n\r\nThe eye trackers have been a standout hit. They free up a hand that would otherwise be used to move the view, letting students look around the cockpit naturally inside the simulation. Though they take a bit of practice, students who have tried them call them \"awesome\" because they add real immersion and make the experience feel more authentic. Our students are most excited about this new technology — it gives them a chance to engage more deeply with the simulator and with each other. In particular, our club president and another club member have especially warmed to the eye tracker, using it frequently and helping classmates onboard.\r\n\r\nYour gift has made a tangible difference in how our students learn, collaborate, and explore aerospace concepts. We are deeply grateful for your continued support as we build meaningful, hands‑on opportunities that inspire future engineers and pilots.","fullyFundedDate":1749228843817,"projectUrl":"project/seeing-the-possibilities-in-aviation-and/8959662/","projectTitle":"Seeing the Possibilities in Aviation and Aerospace","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Amanda Stansfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6733083_orig.jpg?crop=673,673,x453,y473&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1600911948264","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-a-stansfield"},{"teacherId":3099435,"projectId":9625458,"letterContent":"WOW! It was so much fun having my students unbox all the amazing games that you donated! Our applied skills classes unboxed them, and the students said things like, \"COOL!\"...\"LOOOOOK!\" ...\"OH MY GOSH! when they saw all the different games from all the boxes! The students play them all the time in social skills classes. I put them in groups and lay down the rules...then they play and practice being good sports and using polite manners. It is GREAT for practicing their social skills! Also, the building toys are wonderful to have when a student is all caught up on their work and looking for something to do. I would MUCH rather have a student working with their hands to build something than getting on a screen. I really appreciate all the fabulous games that you gave me. I bought a fun bookcase to put them all in, and the kids LOVE when they can go over and get something fun out to play with!","fullyFundedDate":1755699167650,"projectUrl":"project/social-skills-are-not-silly-when-we-play/9625458/","projectTitle":"Social Skills Are Not Silly When We Play Games!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Larsen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3099435_orig.jpg?crop=524,524,x313,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692040904964","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3099435"},{"teacherId":6733083,"projectId":8895284,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, our Aviation Club has received an amazing collection of STEM kits that are already transforming how our students learn and explore aerospace concepts. Instead of getting our simulator computer, we did have to return it, but instead we now have a variety of hands-on tools that allow every student to actively engage in building circuits, engineering working Lego aircraft engines, and developing their fine motor skills through practical activities. These kits and items bring to life the lessons we teach by making abstract ideas tangible and exciting, helping students understand the real-world applications of science, technology, engineering, and math.\r\n\r\nAt the end of the year, we introduced the game Sky Team, which was a huge success! It gave students a fun and challenging way to apply the knowledge they had gained throughout the year. What made the game especially impactful was the requirement for students to work together as pilot and copilot to win, fostering teamwork and communication skills alongside their aviation learning. The enthusiasm and collaboration we saw were inspiring to watch.\r\n\r\nWhile we are still hopeful to acquire the right computer for a full flight simulator experience in the near future, this will have to happen through other means to ensure we get the equipment best suited for our needs. Your support has already made a tremendous difference, and we are excited about the continued growth and opportunities for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1739915828195,"projectUrl":"project/warriors-taking-flight-into-aviation-opp/8895284/","projectTitle":"Warriors Taking Flight into Aviation Opportunities","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Amanda Stansfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6733083_orig.jpg?crop=673,673,x453,y473&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1600911948264","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-a-stansfield"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_73820","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1556,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":16,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":89.8,"schoolId":73820,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about West Point Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"West Point Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/davis-school-district/west-point-junior-high-school/73820"}
