Reading in French Can Be Fun!

Help me give my students the chance to read for fun! The French level 1FVR 45 Library - French Level 1 & 2 has 45 books that will appeal to many students. It includes mystery, adventure, science and drama!

My Project

One in three students at my school is impoverished. The city in which I teach is a host city to immigrants from several countries. Reading for enjoyment is essential for all learners but especially for those who have limited access to reading materials. Currently, my department, World Languages, does not have a yearly budget to purchase high-interest readers to accommodate all students in our classes that can be up to thirty people. We write our own stories together in class but also need to read comprehensible leveled books that will challenge their comprehension skills.

My students adore reading when it is low pressure and includes fun topics that relate to their lives and generation.

They would be grateful to have their own French library to borrow from and do silent sustained reading every day.
