My Project

We read a lot in kindergarten, and sometimes it can be hard to find the books you need at the library when every other teacher in the city is using the same books. My class is looking for additional winter books that correlate with reading lessons. The addition of The Snowy Day storytelling kit will allow my students to retell one of our stories, allowing them to practice event order in a fun way!

Read-alouds engage interest in literature and allow them to gain a better understanding of fluency, expression, vocabulary, and critical thinking.

Through read-alouds, I can model the learning expectations. It's a time when we can sit on the carpet together and enjoy a good book, with the hope that it will spark some interest in an author, subject, or particular book.

These book selections will be a wonderful addition to our classroom library.
