Help me give my students inference, cause/effect, drawing conclusions, author's purpose, and informational text games to increase their reading comprehension.
My fourth grade students are willing to try new activities and are excited at the possibilities of what they could learn. Even with some students coming to school with different hardships, they are eager to strive in their learning. My students are enthusiastic and a full of life group who are willing and excited to learn new information and share their knowledge. The enthusiasm shown in learning is evident through cooperative learning projects which vary between teacher and student developed topics.
In my classroom, we focus on being safe to make mistakes during learning, having integrity when interacting with others, and having a positive learning experience.
This allows them to feel safe while also learning new topics and finding out how to be successful cooperatively and independently.
My Project
Learning can be difficult without the proper teaching materials. Some items that would benefit my class are reading comprehension games with the topics of inferences, informational text, author's purpose, and figurative language just to name a few. Along with those materials, we need some organization to our reading area. Allowing organization into the classroom with give my students the ability to locate their reading supplies with ease.
Incorporating games into reading will be a beneficial way for my class to learn while having fun!
When teaching different topics, adding games into the lesson will help the students to continue practicing the learned skills with the possibility of mastering the topics taught.
