This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students read an article called “Reading Buddies,” which discusses the benefits it has for student readers to read to animals. Because we cannot have animals in the classroom, I would like to have stuffed animals that can be read to instead of real animals. My students would benefit from having these stuffed animals in the classroom because they can use them as reading companions when doing independent reading.

The goal is for the students to discover a love of reading, and these reading buddies will support them through this process.

Reading to these stuffed animals will help them develop stronger and more confident reading skills.
