Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class are always willing to take on a challenge. They are motivated, loving, and hardworking! As an educator, I want to try to bridge the learning gap during the 10 months they are in my class. I try to motivate learning on a daily basis using various methods. I want to try to support the learning in my class by providing my students with supplies to get them excited about learning. I love to inspire and challenge my students with high expectations to have them succeed. When you believe in your kids, others will follow your lead. Help me build confidence and knowledge in my class that will follow them in their learning for years to come!

My Project

My project consists of two items: Biscuit books so that my students have books at home, and 3D shapes for the classroom. Working with special needs students, many times families spend time and money on therapy and iPad games. I love reading to them and know that this is not a concept they really enjoy because they don't have the attention span for traditional books. These books are for beginning readers so they will help them both in learning how to read and short enough to keep them engaged and develop a love of reading.

Hands-on manipulatives are necessary for them to learn.

The shapes bin will allow me to give each student their own set to work with in the class. This is important this year with keeping items for each student and not being able to share them. Keeping COVID-19 out is a big part of separating items this year for my students. Help me teach my students 3D shapes and develop a love of books.
