Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help give my second graders new chapter books. They are enjoying reading and participating in the accelerated reading program as well! They read then test using accelerated reading program. If students reach their reading goal, they get to go to a party celebrating all the books they have read! While students read, I usually pass out snacks to keep them wide awake and alert. Having snacks also keeps them motivated and keeps them going, even at the end of the day. These snacks, books and toys will brighten my students day for sure! I also do weekly checks and provide a small toy as part of their incentive to focus on their reading goal. Having more little toys will help them keep reading and reaching their reading goals.
