My Project

This project will open so many doors for my kindergarteners. Help me give my students the gift of stories, imagination, and growing independent reading skills, with a Toniebox Audiobook Project! My eager kindergarten readers are developing foundational literacy skills every day. Access to engaging audiobooks will allow them to enjoy rich stories even when they are still learning to decode words on their own. Research shows that audiobooks can support children’s comprehension, vocabulary development, and engagement with reading, while giving young learners repeated opportunities to hear expressive language and new words. This project will give my students opportunity to explore audiobooks while following along with physical books. Listening to a fluent reader will also allow them to hear what fluent reading sounds like! Not only will it provide the mentioned reading skills that we teach during our lessons, but it's engaging, it's fun and it gives them autonomy.

Additionally, this Audiobook Collection will ignite a love for reading for my varying levels of readers in my classroom.

Many of my students have not seen technology like this. It's screen free, it's fun and there are so many different ways to differentiate and practice explicitly taught skills to our kindergarteners with this Tonie Box Project.
