Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

BMS is a nurturing environment for youth in grades 6-8th. We work to engage, educate and inspire our students to succeed in college, career and beyond! But in order to accurately do this, I need your help to provide a learning focused classroom!

Reading is essential to growth in all subject areas!

These books will allow the students to have a diverse set of options in the classroom. Then the bookshelf and seating will allow the students to have a comfortable setting to read in during class reading time!

It is our job to nurture the kids of today as they are the adults of tomorrow. Help me set ignite their reading spark so that they can explore the world through a book. Majority of our students are from disadvantaged backgrounds and have below grade level reading skills

My Project

These books will help my middle school students engage in deeper reasoning and understanding as they can enter a new world through a book. The school has challenged all students to engage in the accelerated reading program here on campus.

Reading is vital to growth in all academic areas.

While I am a math teacher, I want to encourage my students to read each day. With your help I will be able to bring reading into the math classroom and make true leaders of the children.
